Cassandra Rios, pseudonym of Odete Rios, was the first brazilian author to put in evidence the representation of prostitution and female homoafetividade, themes that led her to suffer various censorship. For the present analise, we adopt was corpus the romance Marcellina, that tells the life's history of woman out of social standards imposed, but that anyway propagates the intolerances of society regarding homosexuality. Marcellina is a contradictory character, led to the obscure world of the sale of the body, lives a homoaffective relationship and yet exposes a prejudiced discourse to relations that do not fit the heterosexual norms. It will be analyzed in the light of the theory of representation and writing of female authorship, in dialogue with Rita Teresinha Schmidt (1995), Michel Foucault (1977), Tânia Navarro-Swain (2000), among other references.Downloads
