Contemporary Afro-Brazilian literature can be seen as one of the most fruitful areas to consolidate decoloniality, since Black women and men have, increasingly, started self-representing and self-fictionalizing, as well as fictionalizing their realities and the reality of those who are individual and, at the same time, it serves to the collective. In this context, the literature of female authorship serves as a political and ideological apparatus - aligned with the decolonial proposition - for the discussion of several “Other” epistemologies. These questions justify the structure of this paper, in which we aim to discuss the place of Time, Temporality and Ancestrality as dialogic characteristics that merge themselves into Conceição Evaristo's literary representations. Thus, we have as a corpus the short story Olhos d’água (2018), in which we analyze the Black female and maternal genealogy. The methodology consists of a bibliographic review, characterized as a critical analysis of an explanatory nature. Regarding the theoretical basis, we reviewed the discussions of Moraes (2018), Rivera (2011), Proença Filho (2004), Ferreira (2014), and others. We intend to associate the literary subject with History, in regard to place and time, temporality and the presence of ancestrality, in order to understand the construction of a narrative that links Black women through sorority and their pain, starting from what Evaristo, as a theorist herself, conceptualizes as Writing-Living.
