Abstract

DOMINGOS, Emilio. Deixa na régua. 2016, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, 73 min.

Deixa na régua (2016) serves as a kind of sequel to Emílio Domingos’ previous work A Batalha do Passinho (2012). As in the previous one, in this new documentary, Domingos fixates on the aesthetics created in the physical and symbolic spaces in the outskirts of big cities. This is done by unraveling the (not always commercial) relations between barbers and their clients in the suburbs and poorer neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro.
