Abstract

The old woman's sexual desire as a reason for mockery is a tópos from the ancient Greece, present in several moments of the history of Western poetry. This article points some of its uses and rhetorical conventions, relating them to the way Hilda Hilst works it in her pornographic production from the early 1990s.
