Family, justice and politic:
critical notes on the public-private distinction

Starting from the traditional liberal conceptual distinction of public-private, we conceive a trajectory that begins with John Rawls’s liberalism and engages with the criticisms of feminist philosophers Susan Okin and Seyla Benhabib. With these criticisms and drawing on their efforts, we conceive a understanding of the initial distinction, deeply marked by tradition, to only indicate, in the end, a model that could be able to guarantee the political participation of women and other groups historically excluded from public space and struggle for power.
