Abstract

The present work aims at re-examining the theme of adolescence from a perspective that makes it possible to establish a dialogue field between different forms of knowledge that consider it as a research field, as in sociology. Starting from the discrimination between adolescence as a subjective issue and adolescence as a social phenomenon - difference not always considered by psychoanalysts and other human sciences researchers - it is possible to get back to the historical inscription of the emergence of adolescence and listen to the discourse of subjects who, along their adolescent path, expose the tensions and impasses of the position they inhabit and are willing to secure in the social structure that precedes them. Unlike one could assume, the threat of seclusion affects not only those who belong to less favored socioeconomic segments, but also the so-called privileged, who face the anguish of losing the socioeconomic position inherited in the social pyramid.
