Abstract

This article presents a "fanonian" analysis of the book "Torture in the colony of Mozambique (1963-1974)". For this, initially, it defines what this analysis would be and explains the importance of the book in question. Subsequently, the investigation itself proceeds, following the hypothesis that the mentioned interpretation of the problem of torture in colonialism, in addition to capturing the historical phenomenon addressed there, provide a systemic view of the subject of torture itself, treating it as a specific element of every "colonial configuration." For Fanon, a structural character of the relations between conquered and conquering peoples, beyond colonialism.
