Scenes at stake: the exacerbation of ambiguity

The movie Jogo de cena (2007), by Eduardo Coutinho, inhabits the fine line between fiction and nonfiction and opens new possibilities contained in the documentary language. Thus, the film proposes a discussion about their own language. This article presents a lecture of the movie and discusses the opposition between documentary and fiction, paying attention to the presence of the unheimlich. It reflects too from the documentary the quality of the relationships we have set in contemporary times – the traffic trivialized from reality to artifice. Jogo de cena reverses this traffic in order to call the viewers to be involved with the relations shown and built in the movie.
