Abstract

This study relates to old age from aesthetic readings capable of enabling the de-automatization of the daily life, constructing and transforming the sensible routine regarding the possible aesthetic fractures and escapes from the daily living, having as its north two main works: Da imperfeição, by Algirdas Julien Greimas (2002) and Velhice: uma estética da existência, by Silvana Tótora (2015). For such understanding of the art as a transforming power for old age, we look closely at the short film Guida (Rosana Urbes, 2014) and its elaborate narrative strategies as inscriptions and inferences of symbolic manifestations of aging in their aesthetic escapes.
