Relapse prevention involves teaching individuals to identify and cope with risk situations. In this research, the goal was to qualify nursing consultations for individuals going through the relapse process through nursing/care integration, in the Care Program for the Alcoholic. A descriptive and exploratory, qualitative-quantitative approach with content analysis was used, divided into three phases: preparation of the manual, nursing staff training and evaluation. The study revealed changes in this teams conceptions of relapse, the relation between theory and practice and its performance as a mediator in this educational process.
