Abstract

This article proposes an analysis of cognitive processes and modes of interaction developed on social television, a form of television reception which combines the television watching experience with navigating the Internet simultaneously, interacting on social networks. The research presented here is part of a perspective of "extended cognition", which considers cognition not as a process exclusive to the minds of individuals, but that involves the technical devices used, environments and interactions made between individuals and social groups. The object of analysis is the website Tv square, which measures Brazilian television audience participation in social media.
