Communicative context: finding an analytical operator for the study of journalistic communicative strategies

This article discusses the communicative context productivity as the analytical operator for the study of the configuring place of communicability in television journalism. The author seeks to understand how positions and ties to the viewer are built, a movement entailing disputes in meaning and power relations. Analytical results suggest the appropriateness of communicative context as a reference for analytically operating, within industrial formats, relations contained in Jesús Martín-Barbero’s map of mediations between instances of media production and consumption.
