Abstract

An experiment was done in the Experimental Field of Agriculture and Horticulture Department of ESALQ, Piracicaba (Brazil) to know the effect of following spacing treatments on 'Nantes' Carrot Crop: inter-row of 15 and 30 cm; and thinned in 4 cm and 8 cm, and unthinned. The results have shown that competition is higher between plants than between rows, and, for normal reeding conditions are not necessary to them. The total root production increase with increasing plant density. Spacing of 30 cm is better than 15 cm inter -row spacing.
