The population of Concórdia district - Tuneiras do Oeste - Paraná - Brasil. The traditional and the modern productizing the local space.

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to focus the Concórdia District, in the municipality of Tuneiras do Oeste, northwest of Paraná state, south of Brazil, demonstrating how the coffee production has determined the populational and spacial characterization and organization in the period from 1950 to 1980, period that the coffee plantation has predominated in the region. With a structure of land area composed by small properties, it has developed the familiar agriculture. For the coffee plantation it has adopted a traditional way of production and a way of life in community, since the population was numerous an the coffee plantation demands lots of handiwork. It has formed then in this local, an homogenous community , where it used to establish several social relationship , habits and rhythms of common life. With the replacement of the coffee plantation by others more modern cultures, like sugar cane and cattle raising, from the 1980s, there had been a transformation relating to the habits, as well as a strong evasion of the population. This way, it has searched in this paper, to investigate the population of the district, recognizing the ways of traditional e modern life, realizing its habits and rescuing the cultural values that exist yet.
