Resumen

Este ensayo se centra en obras de arte creadas mediante la reproducción y apropiación de imágenes disponibles en la interfaz de GSV. Reflejo de la creciente proliferación de imágenes producidas por cámaras automáticas, independientemente de la percepción y la cognición humanas, estas obras provocan una reconsideración del acto fotográfico, del papel del artista como comentador  y curador de imágenes, la sublimación de la autoría y la ontología de la imagen fotográfica. El hecho de que de que tales obras de arte sean creadas extrayendo imágenes de la interfaz GSV puede ser interpretado como una implicación de su redundancia visual. Este artículo defiende, por el contrario, que las obras fotográficas en cuestión implican técnicas creativas y modos de apropiación estética específicos.

  • Marcelo Schellini, Curtin University, Malásia

    Marcelo Schellini, PhD, is a lecturer at Curtin University, Campus Malaysia. His research focuses on photography and visual culture. He has exhibited and published his research works in various international peer-reviewed journals. He is a researcher of the Research Group on Photographic Printing under the supervision of Prof. João Musa at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.

  • Lucas Eskinazi, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil

    Lucas Eskinazi is a research scholar in Visual Poetics at the University of São Paulo, he has published critical essays and translations focused on the photographic act and the role of cameras in society. As an artist, he has exhibited his work in museums and film festivals. He is a researcher of the Research Group on Photographic Printing under the supervision of Prof. João Musa at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
