This letter written to the philosopher Judith Butler reports the process of creation and execution of the performance art FIGURAÇA and how it becomes a gender problem in revealing the body as a social construction, and the identity “woman” as a mark of gender to be performed. This paper also describes how FIGURAÇA has become a procedure of destabilization and displacement of heteronormativity in its oppressive form.
