Abstract

This letter written to the philosopher Judith Butler reports the process of creation and execution of the performance art FIGURAÇA and how it becomes a gender problem in revealing the body as a social construction, and the identity “woman” as a mark of gender to be performed. This paper also describes how FIGURAÇA has become a procedure of destabilization and displacement of heteronormativity in its oppressive form.

    Doutoranda em Performance pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Cênicas da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Unirio), mestra em Performance pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos Contemporâneos das Artes da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) e formada em Licenciatura em Artes Cênicas pela Unirio. Performa nas ruas e casas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro desde janeiro de 2013 e integra a companhia carioca Teatro Inominável desde 2010. Em 2014 foi contemplada pelo Prêmio Funarte Artes na Rua. É curadora da aba Performance da Mostra Hífen de Pesquisa-Cena, Mostra Bienal de Artes da Cena.
