Abstract

This article aims to expand the studies about the history of ludovicense theatre in nineteenth century, from the analysis of theatrical presentations registered in the maranhense journal, since 1880 to 1890. The ads of this journal invited the public to the presentations and sometimes commented the shows in a positive and/or negative the spectacles. It´s intended to identify the spectacles of national and international theater companies which arrived in the maranhense capital and the influence of these presentations in the cultural panorama of the city.
