Jeanne Favret-Saada's work is devoted to the study of the social effects of the annunciation of three particular terms, in very different fields: sorcerer, Jew and blasphemer. They function within an accusatory device which is pre-existing to their enunciation, whose elucidation is the object of this anthropology: the realization of their implicit convictions allows identifying the conditions of happiness of the statements, which allows the success or failure of an accusation.
