Considering the colonization and ethnic cleansing of Palestine and how this resulted in the massive expulsion of people and their forced displacement, in this article, we frame the problem of private refuge. Based on our respective ethnographies with Palestinians from Iraq and Syria who arrived in Brazil, at different times, based on the rising Brazilian humanitarian policy (author, date; author, date), whether through the solidarity resettlement program or through the facilitation of tourist visas, we will seek to draw a parallel to these flows, describing their trajectories from Palestine to Arab countries and from there to Brazil. In our country, we will discuss how the way in which their positions were given and the status granted to them was imposed in different relationships with the Brazilian State and with the already conditioning Arab and Palestinian communities. By describing these processes, we will draw attention to the ongoing effects of the nakba on the lives of Palestinian women in the diaspora.
