Under a similar name – poetic studies – we encounter,
in the last fifty years, productions with diverse procedures and
intentions. On one hand, the study of the poetic speech or
the poetic language, which drifts from Jakobson and crosses
structuralism (Lévi-Strauss) and post-structuralism (Derrida, Paul
de Man). On the other hand, and on the contrary of the latest
inmanentist character, the reading of the poem as a manifestation
of the helplessness of the modern age, and that takes a landscape
as Hölderlin’ spot: “What are poets for in times of anguish?”.
Heidegger, followed by Agamben, Badiou, Rancière and Lacoue-
Labarthe, are in the same area. At last, the assignment that studies
poetry as a specific genre, and its traditions and concrete renews,
as T.S. Eliot and W.H. Auden. This article asks to what extension
these lines are useful for who wants to think about poetry in the
actuality.
