Abstract

In this article I analyze one aspect of the matter which Hannah Arendt called the social question: in short, the relationship between politics, poverty and misery. My purpose is to indicate that the difficulties with the social questions in Arendt’s work become possibly more severe when we focus specifically this theme. On the other hand, it is also our objective indicate how much is possible to think some political meaning of poverty in her own work, starting from the recognition that the liberation is a condition for freedom. Finally, behind these considerations we find the fundamental relationship between capitalism and politics.
