Ch'ixi is a concept theorized by the Bolivian sociologist Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui to understand the heterogeneity and diversity within Bolivian society. The concept questions binary opposi- tions and the homogenization of singularities, aiming to counteract the erasure of collective memory caused by state policies and their covert forms of knowledge colonization. Using this concept, we analyze the characteristics of popular economies in São Paulo, which, similarly to Bolivia, employ comparable strategies to integrate and expand into cities like Buenos Aires or São Paulo, where the dimensions of ritual and spirituality complement the material aspects.
