This article aims to analyze the survival of Judaism during the Catholic monopoly implemented in the Portuguese World in the end of fifteenth century. The Jews baptized, called New Christians, were suspected of secretly maintaining Jewish practices and beliefs, and considered threat to Catholicism. Women were central to this Jewish survival. Here we are interested in realizing the hidden Jewish practices in colonial Brazil, from the documentation produced by the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition.Downloads
