This article reflects on the theory and practice that have hitherto guided the activities of “Translation group of contemporary Arabic poetry” and the research group “Tarjama: school of translators of modern Arabic literature”, developed within the scope of the Language Course of FFLCH-USP. The article reflects on the activities of the literary translation workshop as part of the process of teaching and learning Arabic language and literature. To this end, it explores the pedagogical action in the process of teaching and learning a foreign language via individual translation, collective translation and retranslation.
