Jovens do Ensino Médio e participação na esfera escolar: um estudo transnacional

This article presents a critical analysis of how today’s young high school students attribute meanings to civic and political activities and engage in collective actions in the school environment. This analysis dialogues with the production of knowledge by sociology and the educational Sciences on how young high school students relate in the present with institutional and non-institutional participation mechanisms. The text is based on the final results of a collaborative study carried out by researchers from five Ibero-American universities who established a dialogue with secondary school students, located in São Paulo (USP/UFSCar), Buenos Aires (UBA), Mexico City/Oaxaca (UNAM), Madrid (UCM) and Barcelona (UB). The article also includes reflections on the forms of student-youth participation in these different school contexts
