This study sought to analyze how economic growth, international trade, emissions of CO2 and welfare vary in the presence and absence of embodied technological spillovers in two regions: Brazil and countries of Annex I of Kyoto Protocol. The results showed that technological spillovers positively affected the Brazilian economic performance; however, there was no effect on levels of social welfare and CO2 emissions. This suggests that the technical progress alone is not able to contain the anthropic pressure on the atmosphereDescargas
