Abstract

In this paper we present a translation to Portuguese of the tale Yuki watari (“Crossing the snow”)，by Miyazawa Kenji, and we discuss about some aspects of the translation process, based on theoretical perspectives. We focus in special the difficulties in translating peculiar elements to another culture, and suggest some possibilities to solve them.
