Truth in light of vagueness and fallibilism

In the post-truth era we are going through, it has never been more pressing to discuss the value of truth. This article aims to highlight the metaphysical status of truth in the work of C. S. Peirce from its root in fallibilism defined as the doctrine that our knowledge is never absolute, but always navigates, so to speak, in a continuum of uncertainty and indeterminacy. However, the understanding of the fallibilist doctrine presupposes its foundation in semiotics as the logic of vagueness, uncertainty and indeterminacy. With this in mind, the article will take the necessary path that goes from semiotics to fallibilism and, from there, to the truth as a search in investigative processes and, finally, to the metaphysics of truth.
