Abstract

Sometimes blockbuster, sometimes antagonized by the specialized critic, Hollywoodian cinema isn’t a theme so present in Brazilian academic works. According to that polemic contract, it will be possible to describe the semiotics resources responsible to explain how movies become so desired objects of meaning. We intend to explain how they used to be organized when one talks about content and expressions planes. In order to do that, we are going to select one of the most viewed movie nowadays (according to the website Box Office Mojo, collected on December 26th 2012) comparing it with a movie from another period to defend hypothesis about different kinds of film structures. Our main proposition is to find the incidences of paradigmatic rhythms or syntagmatic rhythms, with continuous or discontinuous effects, with absolute or relative features.
