Abstract

This article is based on an experience working with the monitors of FEBEM (State Foundation for the Wellbeing of Minors) in São Paulo. The idea is to reflect upon that experience as someone analyzing the institutional structure organized around a perverse law and about the effects that structure has upon those who take part in it, be it those who are tutored or protected, be it those who side with the tutors.
