Abstract

The present paper comments oh the clinical modality of thev.ipeutic follow-up, or therapeutic monitoring, recently carried in a number of private schools thai are basically structured for "normal" children but which also propose to include children with serious developmental disturbances. In these settings, the therapeutic monitor is responsible for processing the inclusion, or integration, ol the handicapped child into his or her class and with his or her teachers, with the objective of helping the child to fit into and accept the learning process. There is therefore a combination of educational and therapeutic objectives. The article is based on the account of an experience in therapeutic monitoring inside a school, and discusses issues related to the therapeutic function involved in this type of work.
