This paper aims to contribute to the interface History of Biology - Scientific Education. It presents a synthesis of aspects of the classification of animals proposed by Aristotle (384- 322 B.C.): an overview of the research he carried out, its criteria, classification categories and interpretations related to specific conceptions of the world. Science textbooks rarely mention Aristotle’s classification of living beings, so there is a presentation restricted to the ideas of Carl Nilsson Linnæus (1707-1778) - which seems to have no antecedents - and aimed at memorization. Regarding this context, it proposes applying the History of Biology in Scientific Education. It suggests a didactic sequence of a historical-philosophical nature, which encompasses aspects of Aristotelian classification, to contribute to the perception that there were other influential points of view on the classification of animals, with categories related to the worldviews to which were associated. In this way, it intends to contribute to a more critical view of the construction of scientific knowledge.
