Author Guidelines

Formatting guidelines for articles submitted to GIS – Gesture, Image, Sound – Anthropology Journal are found below. Authors must pay attention to the GIS Ethical Guidelines, which are available on the About the Journal page.

For articles use 12-point Times New Roman, 1.5 space, and include abstract with 100-150 words and five key words. For notes use 11-point Times New Roman, single space. All pages should be numbered at lower right side of the page.

The Chicago Manual of Style” (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/home.html) is used with some modifications.

In order to create a space for international exchange of materials and reflections regarding articles submitted in Portuguese and Spanish, it is necessary to send, after approval for publication, an English version of the approved article. Authors of the originally submitted article are entirely responsible for preparation and revision of the English version. Authors from other countries may publish in English, Italian or French and, in this case, are entirely responsible for revision of their texts and also provide a Portuguese translation. GIS is responsible for revision of texts in Portuguese.

Any suggestions for diagramming (audio)visual content in relation to the text should be sent with article to the Editorial Board as additional file in OJS.
