This paper presents a reflection on the pedagogical approach used in educational processes with children and adolescents “from and on” the streets. This work was developed by professors and college students from Pontificia Universidade Cat61ica de São Paulo (PUC/SP),and it intended to elaborate a way of communicating with these children and adolescents, through predetermined pedagogical principies.Considering these principies, methodological steps and new strategies for the educational practice of the educators were created. It was possible to detect, from the social practice of Popular Education, the main aspects of this educational act. One of the aspects is that the communication process is the
first condition to approach these children and adolescents. Through the analysis of communication codes, this approach searches to build an interactive process with these children.
