The circulation of texts in the first person, which brings the theme that the writing of oneself in (auto) biographical tones, is an increasingly important presence nowadays. Not only regarding traditional genres of the literary sphere, but also in other forms that have multiplied more and more in a highly mediatized society. This article presents a comparative analysis of discourses in the autobiography genre considering it in relation to the confluence of (auto) biographical forms that compose the contemporary hori-zon of the biographical space (ARFUCH, 2010). Our theoretical-methodological approach focuses on the dialogue between studies focused on comparative discourse analysis (GRILLO, GLUSHKOVA, 2016) and the postulates of the Bakhtinian circle. Thinking in tune with the Bakhtinian metalinguistics, we seek to compare discursive constructions produced in different linguistic and extralinguistic contexts. Our corpus is composed of two autobiographies of two respectable authors in their respective contexts: Por Parte de Pai (1995) of the Brazilian Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós and El cuarto de atrás (1978) by the Spanish Carmen Martin Gaite. We no-tice, among other aspects, that the autobiographical writing can assume different configurations within the spectrum of characteristics as concerns a discursive genre, signaling its discursive heterogeneity.
