Abstract

This article sets a focus on the artistic path of the innovating Russian director V. E. Meyerhold, giving special emphasis to the important phase whe he - in consonance with the artistic precedures of Russian Constructivism in the plastic arts and in Architecture - disived his biomechanical technique as a basis for the work of actors. Meyerhold proposes an acute reflection on the relationships between text and the show, as well as a new understanding of the role played by word and literary text within the phenomenom of modern and contemporary theatre.
