Abstract

Tha aim of this article is to conduct a thematic study of the lyrics of Chico Buarque that modulate the concept of feminine. By attaching the question of femaleness to that of social marginality, one casts new light on the concepts of the Orphic and the Promethean woman, on the realm of the feast and realm of the tragic, on the demystification of the woman and the love, on the transformation of the politicised Eros into eroticised polis, all of which are different aspects os Faust's "eternal feminine".
