Matrimonio por convergencia: identidades estatales y la alianza entre Siria y Irán

Este artículo busca comprender cómo las identidades influyen en el surgimiento y mantenimiento de la alianza sirio-iraní. A través de un análisis cualitativo e interpretativo de la literatura sobre el tema, la investigación analiza tres momentos -la guerra entre Irán e Irak, la guerra del Líbano y el conflicto en Siria- con el fin de comprender los elementos que constituyen este vínculo. Se argumenta que la aproximación -y mantenimiento- de la alianza entre Siria e Irán está guiada por la complementariedad de sus identidades nacionales, constituyendo lo que llamamos “matrimonio por convergencia”.
