This essay discusses the emerging field of research of the critical post-humanities. Using the thought of philosopher Rosi Braidotti as a guide, we explore by means of the concept of the post-human predicament – understood as the convergence of post-humanism and post-anthropocentrism – the main themes approached by contemporary critical post-human thought. We discuss the relationship between the post-human predicament with both the acceleration of environmental destruction and the technological acceleration of biocognitive capitalism. Finally, we explore the concept of zoé as a possibility of affirmative resistance by using experimentation in post-human times. We seek to show how this area of investigation contributes to the dilemmas of a mutating contemporary.
