About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The journal publishes articles. Selection criteria include theoretical consistency and alignment with the journal's editorial line and guidelines. The authors are fully responsible for the ideas they present. All material received will be submitted to the Editorial Board, which will assign it to internal and external specialists for review and opinion, in eight areas of study. All reviews and opinions are confidential and impartial. The names of the authors and reviewers are not disclosed, and the reviewers are expected to inform any conflicts of interest that may prevent them from acting impartially. Each article is submitted to two reviewers, one necessarily outside the institution. In case of any diverging opinions, the article will be submitted to a third reviewer. If the reviewers suggest any changes in the original content, the authors will be notified and will have a time to include the changes and submit the final version to the journal. Authors whose articles are not approved will be informed of this decision and will receive an (anonymous) copy of the reviews.
When submitting the article, the author must attach a signed statement that the article has not been published in Portuguese. If the same article is later republished in another periodical or book, it must include a note stating that the text was originally published in Revista Pós, no. xx, ISSN 1518-9594.
Peer Review Process
Original manuscripts submitted to Pós are evaluated by a double-blind peer review system. The estimated time of evaluation takes from 4 to 8 months on average and the publication time from 6 to 15 months.
The Editorial Committee check if the submitted manuscript is in accordance with the Author Guidelines, Focus and Scope of the Journal before sending it to the referees for peer review. The committee can also reject or return the manuscript to the authors for compliance with the standards and attachment of additional documents if necessary. This step of analysis takes into account the manuscript originality, scientific quality and relevance.
Whenever approved at this stage, the manuscripts follow for the peer review and are sent to the referees selected by the editors. The evaluators can be from a national or a foreign institution. Each manuscript is sent to two referees of known competence in the subject matter. In cases of disagreement between evaluations, the original paper is sent to a third evaluator.
Peer review is an anonymous procedure, in which the authors’ name and affiliation are kept confidential during the manuscript review process, as well as the identification of the referees.
Manuscripts are evaluated taking into account the following criteria:
- originality: data novelty and/or carried out analysis;
- pertinence and relevance: paper´s importance for the area of study;
- appropriate relation between the presented data and the inferred conclusions;
- adequate presentation of figures, tables and other supplementary graphic elements, in order to corroborate the analysis carried out;
- precision in article´s structure: the sections´ format should include the theoretical framework, a description of the research method, as well as the data presentation and the results discussion;
- relevance of the adopted methodology in comparison with the work objectives;
- writing quality: clear text, adequate use of punctuation, spelling and grammar;
- technical and scientific quality of the work: correct use of the concepts, depth of contents and the use of fundamental references about the addressed topic.
After the evaluation, the authors are informed about any of the possible recommendations:
- accepted: the work is published without modifications or with minor changes;
- accepted with revisions: the work is published after specific changes in the text have been made;
- new round: a new deadline is set for the authors to make substantial modifications in the manuscript, which is re-evaluated by reviewers and may be recommended in any of the four items described here;
- refused.
Evaluations are reviewed by the editors who may or may not approve the manuscript for publication.
In the case of referees’ conflict of interest, the Editorial Committee will send the manuscript to another evaluator.

Publication Frequency
Open Access Policy
This journal offers open access to its content, following the principle that free availability of scientific knowledge represents a major step to science dissemination.
Publication Ethics
The journal adopts measures and uses tools to identify and prevent the publication of scientific works associated with research misconduct, which requires the engagement of all contributors involved in the edition of the journal.
Only original and unpublished papers are accepted. The Editorial Committee check if the submitted manuscript is in accordance with the Authors Guideline, Focus and Scope, as well as the plagiarism detection system, through the iThenticate tool before sending it to the referees for Peer Review.
It is also requested that all authors of the work sign an Originality Declaration. It is noteworthy that only those who participated and contributed to the content and development of the manuscript should be listed as authors. The recognition of other types of contribution to the work can be mentioned in the acknowledgments part, at the end of the manuscript.
All references used to write the paper should be cited throughout the text and listed in the final references. Only the works indicated in the text must be inserted in the final references, the ones that do not respect the guideline will be subtracted.
During the process of submission until the work publication, the Editorial Committee can reject or return the manuscript to the authors for compliance with the standards and attachment of additional documents if necessary.
If the manuscripts present a research involving human beings, it is advised that a declaration of ethics must be attached to the submission. This declaration must follow the CNS Resolution nº 466/12 and the Norm 001/2013 (check the website http://www.focepbrasil.net.br).
Although the journal does not require specific documentation, any apparent or real conflict of interest must be clearly declared in the paper submission and may be included as a note on the published paper.
Editors may publish corrections and clarifications, or even remove a paper from the journal that has violated the publication ethics.
Basic Information
Revista Pós was established as a broader communication channel with the Brazilian and international scientific community, as well as researchers of different academic fields associated with the realm of architecture and the city. Its aim is to record architectural thinking, quickly disseminate research findings, and keep discussions as up to date as possible.

The copyright holder is the article´s author. The journal only requires the original and unpublished work. After the publication, the author has the right to disclose his article according to his convenience, as long as the journal is properly cited.
The journal authorizes its articles republishing, since the source and authorship are duly cited.
