The study was designed for finding out the determining reason for not using BNH housing loans. Factor analysis was employed as the estatistical technique for data analysis. The most important factor was related to post-purchase concerns. Respondents held that installment payments were too high and that payment readjustments were greater than increases in wages. A second factor in terms of importance was weak financial condition. The results of the analysis may have significant implications for the government's strategy toward the solution of the housing problem. They suggest that the government must, first of all, make a greater effort to reduce inflation, in order to lead to a decrease in the monetary correction rates.
