The main aim of this study is to investigate the relation between the impact of job training and job satisfaction. The study, of a quantitative nature, was conducted in a government agency in Brazil and is based on 140 questionnaires filled out five months after completion of a Team Development Program. The responses of the course participants were submitted to correlation analyses and standard multiple regression. The impact of training on work was shown to be a predictive element in two models identified as significant: satisfaction with the nature of the work and satisfaction with leadership. The study results support the conclusion that those who apply more strongly what they learned in their training tend to be more satisfied with the leadership and with the nature of work. Concerning the variable job satisfaction, the research also led to the conclusion that both functional and personal variables have low explanatory power. The article discusses the results and points out practical recommendations derived from it.Downloads
