Efeitos do Programa Nine Matrices Exercise no equilíbrio, força muscular, flexibilidade e resistência aeróbia em idosos

Resumo

Várias têm sido as estratégias desenvolvidas para aumentar os níveis de aptidão física de idosos. Dentre as opções encontramos o Nine Matrice Exercise, metodologia nova e diferente da maioria dos exercícios físicos, tem sido cada vez mais aplicada sem grande embasamento teórico. Assim, este estudo objetivou verificar seu efeito sobre o equilíbrio, a força muscular e a flexibilidade dos membros inferiores e a resistência aeróbia de idosos. 30 idosos, de ambos os sexos (73,8 ± 5,9 anos), foram divididos entre o Grupo Experimental (n=19) e o Grupo de Controle (n=11). Antes e após nove meses de intervenção avaliou-se o equilíbrio, a força muscular e a flexibilidade dos membros inferiores e a resistência aeróbia por meio do POMA, Levantar e sentar da Cadeira, Sentar e alcançar e Caminhada de 6 minutos, respectivamente. Nas variáveis que apresentaram normalidade de acordo como o teste Kolmogorov-Smirnov (força de membros inferiores e resistência aeróbia) foi utilizada uma ANOVA para medidas repetidas, e para as demais foi utilizado o teste de Kruskal-Wallis. Adotou-se um p≤0,05. Os resultados revelaram melhorias significativas na força muscular (p=0,04) e flexibilidade dos membros inferiores (p=0,00), na resistência aeróbia (p=0,00) e no equilíbrio dinâmico (p=0,02) no GE. O grupo controle reduziu significativamente a flexibilidade (p=0,04). Conclui-se que o NME foi capaz de promover melhorias nas variáveis investigadas, constituindo-se em uma boa alternativa de treino para os idosos, por estimular de forma positiva componentes importantes para a autonomia funcional.
