The aims of this study were: 1- to compare different blood lactate based protocols and 2 - to analyze the validity of minimum blood glucose value for anaerobic threshold assessment during swimming. Ten male trained swimmers (19.4 ± 1.6 years) underwent four to five evaluations separated by 48 - 72 h in a 25 m pool. Maximal lactate steady-state speed (MLSS-S) was determined from blood lactate response to a 2000 m swimming bout at constant speed, while lactate threshold (LTS) and the lowest glucose (; 0.05) from LTS (1.27 ± 0.10 m.s-1) orDownloads
