Abstract

The intention of this article is to study the protection and promotion of immovable cultural heritage in Brazil, from the analysis of the listing institution in light of Game Theory. Beginning at theoretical research as methodological strategy, by means of content analysis and descriptive approach, it was found that listing is fundamental, given that it is the constitutional and infra-constitutional apparatus provided. It was observed that the strategic behaviour of those composing the legal relation is fundamental to the immovable cultural heritage preservation – the community behaviour being also relevant. From the consideration between listing and Game Theory it was inferred that utilising such theory could contribute to the effect protection of immovable cultural heritage, both in legislative propositions and in creating and executing plans that, beyond those directly involved in the legal relation, affect the whole community.
