The viola has been developing in Brazil for five centuries and has participated/helped in the construction of the country’s cultural traditions. ,In addition to the vast repertoire already consolidated, our focus turns to other cultural/musical environments and seeks to test, basically through compositions, arrangements and transcriptions, the possibility of using this instrument. In this article, we will present one of the lines/ environments with which we have dealt, as the focus of our research with the viola — the Choro,
with an arrangement of the work Carinhoso, by Pixinguinha.
