This article intends to reflect on the intersections between religion and politics, located in the conceptual debates around secularization and laicity. Starting from the premise according to which religion is a public dimension, I am interested in analyzing religious imaginaries in Argentine political culture. For that, I interviewed about fifty national congresspeople to inquire into their careers, training, areas of socialization, their journeys as activists and in their political offices; about their religious beliefs; and their views and assessments of the presence of religion in the public space in general and in education specifically, the link between religious groups and the State and the influence of religious assumptions on parliamentary decisions.
