A inovação, a competitividade e a projeção mundial das empresas brasileiras

Abstract

The capacity to innovate is decisive as regards competition among companies and nations. So, it is necessary to discuss with all sectors of society the role of innovation in its social and economic development. Concerning that, this text aims at discussing issues such as investments in education, the coherence and complementary relationship shared by public and private investment in R&D (Research and Development), the governance of the SNI (National Innovation System) with a bigger participation of companies, and the intellectual property as key elements in the innovation environment of a country. Although it is possible to identify some considerable advances as regards these issues in Brazil in the last few years, some of the limitations and difficulties still persist, and that can place us far from the other countries in our quest for competitiveness.
