Abstract

The horse's teres minor muscle was dissected in 26 thoracic limbs in order to study its origin (insertio scapularis). It arises from the middle proximal fourth of the caudal border of the scapula and from an oblique muscular imprint of the infraspinous fossa. The second origin, in line and continuous with the first, reaches the level of the scapular neck. Sex, age and breed seems not to influence the anatomical disposition of the teres minor muscle.
