Abstract

A 5-years-old female dog developed clinical signs of rabies 16 days after being inoculated intramuscularly with rabies from bat origin. The diagnosis of rabies was supported not only by isolating the virus from saliva but by demonstrating it in cornea cells. Recovery from the clinical illness was complete 31 days post inoculation, with no demonstrable sequelae. Serum neutralization test performed 36 days post inoculation reveled titer 1:625. No treatment was given to the animal.
